Post-FAFSA Scholarship Info & Message from UHEAA

April 18, 2012 Categories: FAFSA, Financial Aid, Grants, Paying for College, Scholarships, Student Loans, UHEAA by Bryan Lee 0 Comments

At 11:59 PM last night, our 2012 FAFSA scholarship contest came to close. We want to give a HUGE thanks to those who came out for help at our FAFSA Nights, the 300+ Utah students who applied for our $4,000 in FAFSA scholarships and everyone who reached out to us this FAFSA season for help with the FAFSA. We love to help Utah’s students and parents. And when it comes to removing financial barriers to higher education — that’s what we’re here for! Most importantly, thank you for being proactive about financing your future and higher education by submitting your FAFSA. Go forth today, learn, be the master of your higher education and tomorrow … change the world!

We will be waiting a few days for remainder of the scholarship applications sent by mail and postmarked before (or on) the deadline to come in to our office. Early next week we’ll be announcing the lucky winners of our $4,000 in college scholarship money! If you’re one of the winners, we will contact you by phone and email with our congratulations and information on how to claim and use your scholarship money.

We wish you all the best of luck!

Sincerely,
Steve, Sumiko, Michelle, Bryan, Dave and Nate at UHEAA Outreach

P.S. We understand that due to issues with taxes, personal situations and many other reasons, that you may have not been able to fill out and submit your FAFSA yet. While most priority deadlines at Utah’s institutions of higher education have already passed, it doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t submit your FAFSA. Federal Financial Aid is awarded until there is none left in the year’s budget to be given. Tons of scholarship contests and competitions run all throughout the year and also require that you have submitted your FAFSA. Remember: Even if you have been told that you won’t get any aid from the FAFSA (which is most likely incorrect), there is no reason why you shouldn’t do it. t’s free and you have your friends here at UHEAA Outreach to help you out.

When it comes to the FAFSA and paying for college, we’re your people. Don’t hesitate to contact us when you have any questions or need help.
